The fact that her right knee is fully healed was more evident than ever during a 24-point outburst in a 57-36 home win over Drew on Jan. 22.
“I don’t have any problems with the knee before, during or after the games,” said Potts, who missed most of last season due to injury.
Against the Lady Titans, Potts also made three of her four 3-pointers in the first quarter, and finished with three steals and two blocks.
“I felt pretty confident in my shot,” Potts said. “I wasn’t going to let anything stop me from shooting.”
On Jan. 8, Potts made her long-awaited return to the court in a 57-9 victory over Ola.
“After being on the sideline for so long—a whole year, it was a relief to get back and to know that I could play now,” Potts said.
Off the court, Potts has a 3.7 grade-point average and a slight interest in physical therapy. She does want to continue playing basketball in college but is still unsure where.
Forest Park has locked up first place in sub-region 4A-AAAAA.
