The musical centers around an ambitious young window washer named J. Pierrepont Finch who uses a how-to guide to get to the top of the corporate ladder. Junior Conor Korbisch will star in the lead role.
Additional cast members include junior Lauren Watkins as love interest Rosemary Pilkington, senior Alex Davis as CEO J.B. Bigley, junior Rachel Canouse as Hedy LaRue, junior Ryan Hopkinson as Bud Frump and freshman Chloe Campbell as Smitty. An additional 17 students round out the supporting cast in addition to an ensemble of 13 singers and dancers.
The musical boasts several show-stopping dance numbers and hit songs including “I Believe in You,” “Happy to Keep His Dinner Warm” and “The Company Way.”
“The iconic style of Frank Loesser’s sound bursts forth in every number, from the major numbers to the intermezzis played during scene changes,” Brian Clements, Northview’s director of choral activities said in a news release. Nominated for 20 Tony awards over its lifetime, ‘How to Succeed’ is a landmark show not only for its plot, but for every aspect of the show: book, music, choreography and staging.”
Performances of the musical will be Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
