Callie Bergin has provided plenty of offensive firepower for Riverwood this season.

The senior forward has scored her share of goals, ranking second on the team with six.

She is also successful in setting up her teammates to score, leading the Raiders in assists with seven.

Bergin played a key role in a couple of recent wins over Region 7AAAAA opponents, contributing a combined two goals and three assists in Riverwood’s 10-0 victory over Osborne March 19 and 7-1 defeat of Sequoyah March 22.

“Callie has developed her game over the last few years,” Riverwood coach Donald Macoy said. “You quickly notice that she is fast, then you notice that she works hard, then you notice that her instincts have her in the right place at the right time. And then, when she gets near the goal, she can finish.”

Macoy also praises Bergin for her leadership and passion for soccer. “She is a team captain and is constantly looking at what will make herself and the team better,” Macoy said. “She is one of those players who loves the game and you can see it with the emotion she brings to the team each day.”
