The Colonial Hills girls’ soccer team has been competing well this season, despite having to share their coaches with the boys team.

During this season, one of the Lady Rams was able to sign a scholarship for her great efforts on the field.

Senior attacking midfielder Heather Lashley is one of the top scorers for the team this season and has signed a soccer scholarship with Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala.

Lashley has played on the varsity team for Colonial Hills since she was in the seventh grade and has made great progress to get where she is now, her coach said.

“She has always been a midfielder or a forward for the team. Over the years her skills have progressed and have made her into the great player that she is today,” said head coach Sean Bruce.

As a veteran on the team, Lashley is one of the team captains this season, helping the coaches with the other girls.

“She is a leader of the team and with that she helps the coaches by moving and motivating the players on the field,” Bruce said.

Bruce described Lashley as being a highly aggressive player as she “commands the field when she is in the game”.

The best game Lashley has had this season, according to Bruce, was against Westminster Christian in which she scored two goals for the Lady Rams.

Lashley has also been a member of the basketball team at Colonial Hills. Outside of sports, Lashley is also a member of the Student Government Association, yearbook staff, BETA Club and National Honor Society.
