Garrett Price’s resume as a key cog in the Marist varsity tennis program is rock solid.

The dynamic senior, a four-year starter, has made an impact wherever he’s been needed.

Price has managed to fight his way to an 8-4 record at No. 1 singles this season. For his career, he’s 48-13 — which encompasses stints at No. 1 doubles and all three singles slots in the War Eagles’ rotation.

“Garrett is a versatile player,” said Marist coach Tommy Marshall. “He knows how to set up and work a point until he gets the advantage.”

As Price’s career clearly demonstrates, talent and intangibles can take one a long way.

“He has tremendous instincts at the net,” Marshall said. “You know every time he steps on the court he will give you his best.”

Price has managed to develop an all-around game since his freshman days.

A senior captain, his leadership in keeping his teammates focused this season has been invaluable, his coach added.

For all his on-court accomplishments, Price’s worth extends far beyond tennis.

“Garrett is also an excellent [student-athlete] and involved in many aspects of our community outside athletics,” Marshall said. “He’s a good one.”
