The city of Milton will hold three community input meetings regarding the proposed Bell Memorial Park expansion project.

The first meeting will be in conjunction with the Hopewell Youth Association’s HYA Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bell Memorial Park. The next two meetings will be June 6 and 27, both at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The meetings will be moderated by Foresite Group, the company that was awarded a $54,000 bid for the park’s master plan design and construction services. The city purchased 14 acres of land for $1.28 million last year to more than double the size of the park.

“We know residents want more than just rectangle and diamond fields for group sports,” said Jim Cregge, the city’s parks and recreation director. “We want to create a park with walking trails and other amenities so the park services the whole community — not just families with children playing sports.”

City staff members have also contacted representatives from 11 stakeholder groups — representing sports leagues, trails enthusiasts, equestrians, local neighborhoods and more — to conduct focused research.

For more information, contact Cregge at (678) 242-2489 or email jim.cregge@cityofmiltonga.us.
