WHAT: 'Keep Your Politics Off Our Planes!' Rally

WHEN: Thursday, April 25th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, 6000 North Terminal Pkwy, Suite 4000, Atlanta, GA 30320

Americans for Prosperity-Georgia will gather at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in a "Keep Your Politics Off Our Planes" rally to ask the White House to ease flight delays.

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is a nationwide organization of citizen-leaders committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity.

AFP-Georgia State Director Virginia Galloway said, "Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the busiest in the world and delays emanating from this international hub will reverberate across the globe. In spite of sequestration, the Department of Transportation actually has a bigger budget this year than they did last year. There is no excuse for interrupting the safe and timely travel of American passengers when the DOT has more resources than it did prior to sequestration. Other agencies have been able to find cuts to wasteful spending without furloughs, so why can't the White House work with the FAA to do the same? The Obama administration clearly is not doing enough to redirect funds and ensure that flights are being serviced safely and on time.

"I strongly urge the Obama Administration to avoid injecting politics into a vital function of our economy. They should at least work to prioritize funding for the FAA for the sake of Atlanta's traveling population. It's wrong to try to make Americans regret doing the right thing and accepting modest, responsible spending cuts "
