The Roswell High School band returned with multiple awards and honors from “Festival Disney” at Walt Disney World, Fla.

Several bands, orchestras, jazz ensembles and choral groups competed over the three day adjudicated event. Participating in the most competitive AAAA class, the Roswell concert band received a “Superior” rating and was awarded “Best in Class” out of all AAAA bands.

In addition, the band was further awarded the coveted Silver Mickey trophy, placing second out of all participating bands and orchestras at the entire festival event. After the festival, the students received instruction during a clinic led by the adjudication panel of top university directors.

The trip is organized annually to showcase the talents of the local students and place them against similar and competitively ranked programs. The band program is under the direction of Mark Adams, Percussion Director Brandon Kunka and Guard Sponsor Beth Ball.
