In a news release, the Buckhead Business Association’s Young Bucks, a division of the organization comprised of young professionals, announced Tuesday it will host a special fundraiser Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at City Club of Buckhead.

At Tie One On for the Record, attendees will gather to knot more than 200 bow ties in three minutes — a Guinness World Record — while raising funds and awareness for the Nicholas House, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing family homelessness.

To raise the bow tie bar, organizers are aiming for many more than the 200 participants required to set the world record. The event is open to residents who are fit to tie or be tied be for a good cause. Honored guests at Tie One on for the Record include Roswell Major Jere Wood, a bow-tie ambassador, and Garrett Gravesen, a noted speaker, entrepreneur and Junior Chamber International Ten Outstanding Young People of the World winner, who will serve as the emcee.

Guests are requested to wear their most fashionable black and purple attire - Jay Austin Bow Ties will provide the finishing touch: a commemorative Jay Austin Collection bow tie.

Registration is $65 and includes participation in the record attempt at 7:45 p.m. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment by the Justin Band, a complimentary bar and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and a hand-selected gift bag.
