'Canes sweep North Hall for state baseball championship

Cartersville swept North Hall in two games for the GHSA Class AAA state baseball championship Saturday in Gainesville.

According to the Gainesville Times, Cartersville won 4-2 in game one. In game two, the Purple Hurricanes won 2-1 when Tripp Jameison hit a walk-off single down the first base line in the seventh inning after Beau Benefield reached on an error, moved to second on an error and advanced to third on a ground out.

The win gave Cartersville its sixth state baseball championship in 12 years.
