The Fulton County school system has selected Ron Willhite of Milton High School and Patricia Caffrey of the Professional Leaning Center South as the district’s 2013-14 School Professional of the Year and Support Professional of the Year.

These two individuals have been selected because of their contributions to the success of the school or department as a whole, as well as the positive impact they have made on students.

Milton’s resource officer, Willhite, is said to put his student’s needs above his own.

“I meet with administration, teachers and staff daily to help address any concerns they may have and try to make myself available for any events, activities or special projects,” Willhite stated.

Principal Cliff Jones described Willhite as skillful and highly analytical when taking on challenges to keep the school safe.

“He displays a calm and confident manner while working through problems with students and families,” Jones stated. “He is very good at performing triage in setting his work schedule by addressing problems that impact learning and teaching as the highest priority while balancing his other responsibilities.”

Officer Willhite shares the spotlight with his staff, complementing them on going above and beyond in their fields as well.

Caffrey stands out from the rest, in her role as a professional assistant, by applying her expertise in customer service. She is described by her supervisor as gracious, courteous and professional.

Each spring a new staff member is selected and recognized for their exceptional work in the school system.
