Edyn Boutique, a locally owned women’s boutique in the Town Brookhaven shopping center next to Noche, will launch its Local Artist Series, an addition to the Girl’s Night Out program, June 20, at 6 p.m.

With many talented local artists and few showcase venues, Edyn Boutique is committed to helping local talent find the spotlight.

Each month, one artist will be selected and given the opportunity to display and sell their unique art work in Edyn for two weeks. There will be a launch party for the artist the third Thursday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m., giving them the opportunity to regale Edyn’s clientele with stories of art origin and inspiration.

Of course, no party would be complete without music and snacks, which will be served as attendees shop and socialize with special event discounts in mind. All these factors combined make for the perfect Girl’s Night Out.

“We are so excited for the launch party on June 20,” said Jessica Farr, Edyn’s manager. “I know people are busy with summer, but hope everyone will take the time to come out and meet our first artist, Karen Harris Christian. She makes unique pieces, she’s down to earth, and an absolute joy to talk with.”

Christian, founder of Her Song Jewelry, makes handmade pieces with buttons, love and goodwill in hopes that wearing them will bring out the special song in your life. Not to mention, they are great conversation pieces.

Christian served as a facilitator for Alzheimer’s caregivers’ for five years and has been an advocate for Alzheimer’s disease and its related issues at the state capital.

In recent years, she has captained her church’s team for “Walk to End Alzheimer’s”, a fundraiser for awareness. Edyn Boutique and Christian have agreed to donate 15 percent of each sale to the Alzheimer’s Association, who work to advance research and improve the lives of those living with the disease.
