The Johns Creek Fire Department has named Anthony Saunders as the “Firefighter of the Quarter” for the first quarter of 2013.

“Anthony is an excellent firefighter who works hard every day,” said Johns Creek Fire Chief Jeff Hogan. “He is a team player and we’re fortunate to have him serving the Johns Creek community.”

A native of Morrow, Saunders began his firefighting service in 2002 in his hometown where he also received his fire training. Prior to coming to Johns Creek, the Morrow resident then served the City of East Point. Saunders joined the Johns Creek Fire Department when it launched in October 2008.

Saunders is enrolled at the University of Florida finishing a Bachelor of Science degree in fire and emergency services. He is currently a Firefighter II serving the Johns Creek community from Station 62.

“I’m very honored to have received this recognition,” said Saunders. “I’m thankful to work with some of the best firefighters I’ve ever known. Our job is based on teamwork. It’s all about the people standing next to you and I’m grateful to be a part of this team.”
