In a news release, Buckhead resident Angelic Moore, a Republican candidate for the District 54 state House seat in 2014, Tuesday announced she raised $22,411 in campaign contributions at her first fundraiser. The event took place Monday night at Hal’s on Old Ivy in Buckhead.

The former 2004 Republican nominee for Fulton County Clerk of Superior Court is seeking the seat currently held by Edward Lindsey, R-Atlanta. Lindsey announced in April he is stepping down to run for the 11th Congressional District seat being vacated next year by Dr. Phil Gingrey, who in March announced he would run for the U.S. Senate post being vacated by Saxby Chambliss.

Moore works as vice president of Insider Advantage/Internet News Agency, owned by former State Rep. Matt Towery. She is the only person to publicly announce her candidacy for the District 54 seat, which includes Buckhead.

Towery and Senate Rules Chairman Jeff Mullis, plus Moore’s advisory committee, will host a campaign fundraiser for her June 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eclipse di Luna restaurant, 764 Miami Circle in Buckhead.
