Thursday night’s rainstorms wreaked havoc on metro Atlanta and the local area, causing about 200,000 Georgia Power customers to lose power as of 9 a.m. Friday, according to the utility’s website.

In Fulton County, 20,000 customers were without power, in DeKalb, 30,000 had no electricity, and Cobb and Cherokee counties each had 4,500 customers without power, according to Georgia Power’s website.

The website states electricity may not be restored until midnight tonight or Saturday morning.
