NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH: Roaming call

ROAMING CALL: Roswell police responded to Wood Creek Apartments on June 19 after an iPhone 5 was taken from its owner. The victim was in the parking lot when a man came up to him and asked to use his cell phone to call a friend. The victim reportedly dialed the phone number for the man and handed him his cell phone, and the man allegedly took off running. Police spotted the man running and after a foot chase, 18-year-old Steven Tramble was taken into custody. The cell phone was recovered.

ONE DOLLAR HEIST: Two victims at North Point Mall were reported to have been robbed by intimidation June 18. They were in the parking lot when they stated they were approached by two men who had been riding in a white Toyota 4Runner and claimed the victims had “flipped them off.” The victims said the larger man was very intimidating and made gestures as if he was going to hit them. The victims report the man then asked if they had any money and took a one dollar bill from one of the victims’ wallet. Another man got out of a pickup truck with a baseball bat and told the suspects to leave the victims alone, and they left.

GROUNDED: After sending an Internet-based travel company $3,500 for tickets to India, a woman arrived at the airport only to have airline representatives tell her the ticket purchase was suspended because the credit card used by the travel company was fraudulent.

ANGRY EMAIL: The Alpharetta police received a complaint June 15 of a threatening email. The victim reportedly received an email regarding her position at work that made threats toward her about an incident three years ago.

DUMPSTER DIVING: An Alpharetta police officer observed a vehicle behind the Target on North Point Parkway and stopped the car when it started to leave. The vehicle’s occupants, Marion Hargett and Leigh Kennedy, were reported to have said they had been Dumpster diving. A search of the vehicle allegedly found drug-related objects in their possession.

VON MAUR MYSTERY: Loss prevention at Von Maur on North Point Circle observed a female take two items of clothing and exit the store June 9 without paying. She was not stopped or identified.

CRIME OF FASHION: A woman was observed taking several items into a Macy’s dressing room at North Point Mall June 8 and when she exited, the merchandise wasn’t with her or in the dressing room. Loss prevention stopped Mariam Mahdavi after she passed all points of sale. Mahdavi was arrested and transported to the Alpharetta jail. She was charged with theft by shoplifting less than $500.

NOTEWORTHY BURGLARY: Sometime between the evening of June 17 and the following morning, it appears someone forced entry on the front door of Noteworthy Studios in Alpharetta. Miscellaneous merchandise and personal items of the owner were reported missing.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime, and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
