A5 Volleyball Shines at AAU National Tournament

The A5 Volleyball club team, based out of Roswell, had a successful run at the AAU National Championships, held in Orlando, Fla. last week. The 17 Karen squad, led by head coach Karen Brown, finished second in the 17 Classic division, gaining a silver medal. Hannah Shanely, Kaitlyn Green and Kellie McCravy were named AAU All-Stars from the team. 14 Suzanne earned a bronze medal for a third place finish in the 14 Open division which helped Cameron Dobbs and Alena Cashdan receive All-America honors. Head coach Jing Hou led his team, 17 Jing, to a bronze medal in the 17 Classic bracket. Molly McAlvany of Blessed Trinity and Chattahoochee’s Haley Templeton were named to the All-America team. Johns Creek’s Annika Olsen and Claudia Coco of Chattahoochee were also on the 17 Jing squad.

JCN: Thank you for your coverage of local volleyball. But A5 17-Jing won bronze in the Open division at AAUs. Congrats girls on placing third in the nation in the top division at AAU nationals.
