The A-Town A-List is looking to blow into town and bring the house down Sunday at Heritage Green.

The do-it-all, eight-member band is the latest act to take the stage there as part of Heritage Sandy Springs’ Concerts by the Springs series.

“We want people to escape the stress of their everyday lives and experience a real moment of connection and fun,” said Ryan Stuart, the group’s founder and manager. “Bringing joy to people through the power of music — that’s what we do, and that’s what we’re about.”

A-Town A-List has managed to carve out its own niche performing the past five decades of pop music with a “very current, modern edge”

Its eclectic membership is responsible for the band’s confluence of talent and chemistry.

Atlanta’s Dustin Ahkuoi can belt out both high and low notes as lead vocalist. Nathan Cooley, a Midtown resident, is a drummer by all accounts. Samm Darden is on bass guitar; Shane Hulsey  on its electric cousin.

Genevieve Simpson, the “First Lady” of the group, also holds her own on vocals. Emerson St. Pierre’s keyboard stylings bring a certain essence to the unit. Rounding out the group is downtown Atlanta’s Rudy Vaughn, whose artistic range encompasses lead vocals, saxophone and acoustic guitar.

Anyone who thinks that A-Town A-List shows are exclusively about music is getting the wrong impression.

“It’s comedy, energy and interaction,” said Stuart. “You never know exactly how a show is gonna take off, but it always does.

“It’s truly an experience.”

Sunday’s show marks the band’s return to the Heritage concert series lineup. Organizers are “delighted” to bring A-Town A-List back into the fold.

“This young band last performed on the Sandy Springs stage in 2011 and their talent was extremely well received,” said Rebekah Henry Murphy, Heritage’s special events director. “We know they will put on a dynamic show of hits from the last 50 years, with a pop edge, that lends itself to audiences of all ages and creates a wonderful night of entertainment.”

Stuart echoed those sentiments, recalling the group’s 2011 performance here as a night to remember while looking forward to its dynamic playlist.

“There’s always something for everyone,” he said. “From Neil Diamond to Michael Jackson to Garth Books to Rihanna and Jay Z … and everyone in between.”

Gates for the event are set to open at 5 p.m., with the main act scheduled to hit the stage at 7 p.m.
