Johns Creek now has a new option for an entertaining girls’ night out, a creative date or an interactive corporate event.

Pinot’s Palette, an upscale paint and sip art studio, opened its doors last month at 11720 Medlock Bridge Road, Suite 175. No art experience is needed as instructors guide guests to create paintings in two to three hours all while enjoying alcoholic drinks and snacks.

“You pick the painting you want and then you come in with your beverage and snacks and we provide everything else,” said owner Shubhra Saxena.

Art classes are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Interested guests can go online to check out the featured painting for the night.

The studio can also be reserved for private events, such as birthday parties or bridal showers.

“We have a library of over 300 paintings to choose from,” Saxena said.

Pinot’s Palette offers date night events where couples work on dual paintings with each partner painting one half of the picture.

“For our corporate events, we enlarge a painting and we can do it two ways,” Saxena said. “We can do a collaborative painting where everyone paints into the same picture.

“[The other option is to] break up the painting into different canvases and everybody paints their own piece of the puzzle. When they put them all together on the [company’s] wall, that’s a total complete painting.”

While there are other studios in north Fulton with similar concepts, Saxena said Pinot’s Palette stands out for its customer service and attention to detail. The company is a national chain, which started in Houston, Texas, but the new Johns Creek location is the first in the state.

“I am so excited to bring this concept to Georgia,” Saxena said. “We have a lot of paint-and-sip places, but this is just beyond.”

Saxena said all the instructors and assistants are local artists who have been formally trained.

“Our artists are trained to teach in such a way that it doesn’t seem like instruction,” she added. “It’s very informal but at the same time it’s very structured.”

There have only been a handful of classes since its opening, but the studio has received great feedback from participants.

“We’ve had people say, ‘Oh my gosh, I didn’t believe I could do this,’” she said.

Saxena would like to eventually open five Pinot’s Palette locations in the metro Atlanta area.
