“We are pleased to bring ALDI to Johns Creek to help customers get high-quality products at everyday low prices,” Thom Behtz, division vice president for ALDI, said in a news release.
According to the company, ALDI offers more than 1,400 frequently purchased items under its own brands for prices up to 50 percent less than traditional supermarkets. ALDI conducts rigorous testing on all products to ensure its brands meet or exceed the national brands on taste and quality.
The grocery chain eliminates overhead costs by using a smaller store footprint, encouraging customers to bring their own shopping bags, and offering a cart rental system through which shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return.
The Johns Creek store features high ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally friendly building materials — such as recycled materials and energy-saving refrigeration and light bulbs. The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A grocery retailer that has grown without merger or acquisition, ALDI has more than 1,200 stores in 32 states, including more than 30 locations in metro Atlanta. Over the last several years, ALDI has added approximately 50 to 80 new stores each year.
