The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes for the 2013 season, which featured four Georgia College women’s tennis players including Alpharetta High School alumna Sarah Murray, on Aug. 20.

Murray started 20 matches as a freshman for the Bobcats from the No. 6 singles spot in 2013.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any qualifying ITA program who’s cumulative team grade point average was at least 3.20 or above out of a 4.0 scale.

To be recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, the player must be awarded a varsity letter, have a GPA of 3.50 or higher and be enrolled in the current institution for two semesters.

The college women’s tennis team finished 16-12 for the 2013 season with a 7-6 record inside the Peach Belt Conference. The record was good enough to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the 19th consecutive year.
