Literally “stepping up to the plate” with her hitting and leadership in a big way has been senior first baseman Macy Henry.
After the 12-0 defeat of Fayette County, Henry is hitting .516 and leading the team in batting average.
According to head coach Zackary Graham, Henry is a “strong” leader.
“She is a great player and has found her role as one of our team leaders,” Graham said. “She has done a great job pulling the girls together.”
Henry has played at the varsity level for the Lady Cougars since her freshman year and has progressed each year, her coach said
“She has improved every year as most good players do. That is part of it. She has grown, matured and worked on her craft. That is the process if you want to get better,” said Graham.
With only six games left in the regular season, Henry is practically done with her high school softball career.
She has plans on playing in college, but has yet to commit to any of the schools she is considering.
“Right now she is undecided but has gone on some official visits,” said Graham.
