Fresh off a successful inaugural engagement this spring, Foodie Fridays is back and poised to become a staple of fall Friday nights in Sandy Springs.

The popular new pastime, hosted by Art Sandy Springs, is designed to deliver an array of sights, sounds and tastes to those who flock to the Kudzu & Co. parking lot, located at 6450 Roswell Road.

“We’re back at it again because it’s a good event that people really enjoyed [in the spring],” said Art Sandy Springs spokesperson Peggy Allen. “We’ve been able to craft a vibrant atmosphere of bringing the community together around the arts.”

The Foodie Fridays series — held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. — is co-sponsored by Kudzu & Co., the Atlanta Street Food Coalition and Steve’s Live Music.

This Friday’s event promises to carve up more of the same sensory pleasures that attracted a significant amount of residents to previous outings.

Patrons can sample a variety of gourmet food truck cuisine from the Atlanta Street Food Coalition. Trucks representing Mighty Meatballs, King of Pops, Moveable Feast, Buen Provecho and Genki are among those scheduled to be on site as part of the series.

Meanwhile, this week’s featured live performer, Danielle Howe, will deliver her folk rock musical stylings. Attendees are encouraged to get and remain comfortable by bringing blankets, chairs, strollers or tables.

If nothing else, Foodie Fridays is a viable platform for people to listen, dance and unwind, Allen said.

“Art Sandy Springs is excited to co-sponsor it with these three great businesses ... and help fulfill our mission, which is to promote the arts,” she said.
