n ALL FOR FRUIT: At a grocery store/supermarket at 1801 Howell Mill Road in Buckhead Sept. 17, the suspect selected a fruit plate totaling $4, concealed it in a plastic bag and passed all points of sale without making a purchase. The suspect was later apprehended and arrested.

n HELPING HAND: At Interstate 75 and Howell Mill Road in Buckhead Sept. 16, the female victim drove onto the I-75 northbound ramp when an older white male with a flashlight walked in front of her car. The suspect told her he ran out of gas, a tow truck was on the way and Atlanta Police Department officers had his wife and baby. The man said his name was Steve Thomas and that he worked for Black & Decker and would pay her back the next morning if she was able to lend him a hand. The victim grabbed her wallet and started to take a few $1 bills out when the suspect grabbed her hand and told her he needed more. When the victim said that was all she had, he tightened his grip and demanded she give him everything in her wallet. The victim gave the suspect $19. The suspect apologized and the victim drove off.

n BAD TRAFFIC: At Interstate 85 North and Ga. 400 northbound in Buckhead Sept. 16, the victim said a white Chevy Camaro followed closely behind her before speeding up and passing her vehicle, cutting her off. The victim honked her horn, drove around the Camaro and flipped the suspect off. The suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim and the victim’s female passenger before attempting to run their vehicle off the road. The victim got behind the suspect and took a photo of the Camaro. The suspect hit her brakes several times before exiting 400 at the Lenox Road exit.

n GOOD SAMARITAN: At 3300 Lenox Road in Buckhead Sept. 20, an unidentified black male suspect approached the victim as she was walking and asked to use her phone to call his mother. When the victim handed him the phone, he pushed her away and ran away with the phone in hand.

n CROSS-COUNTRY: At the St. John boutique at 3393 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, corporate loss prevention sent the store manager video footage of a black female, believed to be a cross-dresser, concealing clothes in a shopping bag Sept. 8. None of the store employees were aware of the incident. The same person was caught on security cameras shoplifting from a St. John store in Las Vegas.

n MISSING SAFE: At a residence on the 2000 block of McKinley Road in Buckhead Sept. 14, the victim reported that an unauthorized entry was made there and that a safe and his coin collection were missing. Police determined that no forcible entry was made into the residence. The victim said he had moved into the location about a month ago and that he was aided by a moving company. The victim said it took three people to move the safe into the residence. There is no video surveillance or eyewitnesses.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
