Act3 Productions, the community theater based in Sandy Springs, won 12 Metropolitan Atlanta Theater (MAT) Awards at a ceremony last month. Lyn Taylor won her third consecutive MAT award for Best Musical Direction, while Patti Mactas repeated last year’s win for the Moira Thornett Director’s Award for a musical.

“The annual MAT awards are not only wonderful for recognizing individual theater professionals and stand-out performances, but the organization also brings us all together to celebration the exceptional work being done by community theaters throughout the city,” said Patti Mactas, Act3 Productions’ artistic director. “The attention generated by the awards helps fill seats in general, while it raises the bar for the artistic and technical work being done.”
