The third-year football program at New Manchester was 4-3 after a 35-28 loss to Allatoona Oct. 4.

Even in the loss, junior running back Omahri Jarrett shined.

Jarrett finished the night with five catches for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

“I feel I played well, but there’s still some stuff I could work on,” Jarrett said last week.

Jarrett may not sound too impressed by his efforts, but head coach Rob Cleveland was definitely pleased with Jarrett’s Oct. 4 performance and said nights like this have become a regular occurrence.

“[Oct. 4] was just a spectacular game for him. He did a lot of things for us but he does that every Friday night. It’s something we’ve come to expect from him,” said Cleveland.

Playing for the Jaguars since his freshman year, Jarrett said he noticed some growth in himself as a player at New Manchester.

“I got stronger mentally and started to focus more in the weight room,” he said.

Jarrett has begun looking at various schools as he plans to take his football career to the next level after his 2015 graduation.

“He’s been a tremendous player for us since we opened the school and he just continues to get better. Next year is his senior season and if he continues to progress at the rate he’s progressing, we feel like he’s got a chance to play at the next level,” Cleveland said.
