Woodland-Henry girls’ basketball coach Ashley Maddox knows he can depend on senior Aalyiah Dotson when the Lady Wolfpack need a shift in momentum.

“I just feel that I need to keep my team composed and keep everybody’s spirits lifted up so we can score some points and win,” Dotson said.

One of the team’s best shooters from behind the arc, Dotson is also a key element in Woodland’s balanced attack this season.

“We’re really good at sharing the ball and looking for the open person,” said Dotson, who averaged nearly seven points and four steals before Tuesday's contest against Jonesboro.

Off the court, Dotson can also be trusted to solve other issues.

“Every time someone in my family needs some help with technology they come to me and I’m able to fix it for them,” Dotson said.

Due to this knowledge, Dotson, who has a 3.8 grade-point average, feels led to major in something dealing with computers at possibly Georgia Tech or Kennesaw State.

This Friday, Woodland will host Spalding then visit Langston Hughes before nearly a two-week break from competition.

Dotson also has her sights set on the game at Stockbridge which is scheduled for Jan. 24.

“They are the rival so the stands will be packed,” she said.
