During its meeting Wednesday, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution sponsored by District 4 Commissioner Tom Lowe to approve the sale of 22.746 acres of greenspace to the city of Sandy Springs. The property is located off Old Riverside Drive, and Lowe’s district includes Sandy Springs.

His resolution indicates the board’s acceptance of a sale price of $1.48 million.

The sale will give the city of Sandy Springs the opportunity to provide more park and greenspace along the Chattahoochee River for its residents. The sale includes restrictions that will ensure the land is used for passive greenspace and parkland, and cannot be developed at a future date.
