As it has for years prior, the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is in the midst of this annual Christmas at Callanwolde event.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to the former home of Charles Howard Candler, eldest son of The Coca-Cola Co. founder Asa Candler. Each room in the mansion is decorated by an interior design professional, from throughout the metro Atlanta area.

For designer Robin Lamonte, of Rooms Revamped, her French-style décor for the music room was inspired by the original wallpaper. New to the Atlanta area, Lamonte, who has been featured on “Good Morning America,” said working on her project room for Callanwolde was fun because she got to do it her way, as opposed to fulfilling clients’ wishes when designing homes.

“To me the room is very calm,” said Lamonte. “I pulled the colors from the old wallpaper and it turned out how I envisioned.”

Her room, as well as many others throughout the mansion, features light blues, corals, creams and golds.

Second-year designer, Rachael Young, of Liquid Design Studios, refurbished the billiards room with reds and deep purple hues. Featuring four Christmas trees, the room also boasts greenery on the chandelier, which Young said she obtained from the grounds of the estate.

For her inspiration, many of the items in the room incorporate low and high-end design.

“I love to be able to show good design, no matter the budget,” she said. “It’s a mix of DIY along with high design items.”

Also featured during the event, which lasts through Dec. 17, are workshops, musical entertainment and an upstairs area where several local artists will be selling their wares. There is everything from handmade glassblown figurines, various sized terrariums and more.

Cost for Christmas at Callanwolde is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and older, $12 for children age 4 to 12 and children 3 and under are free. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
