The Sandy Springs Police and Fire departments responded to Overlook Park off Morgan Falls Road Thursday morning just after 11 a.m. after fishermen discovered a body near the floating dock at the base of the park, Capt. Steve Rose, a Sandy Springs Police spokesman, said in an email to the media Thursday afternoon. The body was recovered and taken to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

Although no confirmation has taken place, the body may possibly be James Morris, who disappeared Dec. 6 from a Roswell park next to the Chattahoochee River, where his vehicle was located. Morris had a history of depression and medical needs. Roswell Police and Fire were also at the scene Thursday and are following up with the medical examiner’s office to positively positive identity the victim, Rose said.

Overlook Park is located off Morgan Falls Road and borders the Chattahoochee.

Once the victim has been identified, Roswell Police will issue a statement.
