Prior to this season, the North Paulding boys’ basketball team had never surpassed five wins in a single year through the history of program. With five victories as of Dec. 19 and more than 15 contests left on the schedule, the Wolfpack appear likely to surpass its previous mark and senior Devon Harris has been the catalyst, averaging 14 points per contest.

“Devon is a true point guard,” head coach Ryan Dyer said. “Off the court, he is always willing to do community service.”

Harris said, “I’ve matured and stepped up as a leader on the team. It’s about time we had success as a program because we’ve put in a lot of work as a team and it’s finally paying off.”

The North Paulding team participated in a food drive within Paulding during Thanksgiving week and served more than 10,000 meals to the less fortunate.

“We like to give back during the holidays to show that we care,” Harris said.

Harris is a member of the Student Athletic Leadership Team at North Paulding and plans to major in business upon entering college, focusing on entrepreneurship.

The Wolfpack will return to action Dec. 28 against Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe in Calhoun.
