o FROZEN ASSETS: At the Pizza Hut at 8290 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs Feb. 8, a man described as a black male entered at about 8:15 p.m. and pulled a gun, demanding money. Instead of giving him the money, the employee ran to the freezer area and activated the alarm. The suspect did rob a customer of about $70 in the store. The suspect is a black male and was wearing a red and grey bandana, grey hoodie and jeans. He was about 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

o TAKING THE BAIT: At the Dog City Bakery at 6309 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs Feb. 7, an employee reported that a man was in the store and pulled a “bait and switch” with a $100 bill. The suspect gave her the bill. During the transaction, he said, “Wait I have change,” and then asked for change for the $100 bill. Somewhere along the line, the clerk became confused and gave the man $94 change for the bill which he had taken back. The suspect was described as a black male, missing some teeth, who called himself Daniel.

o ROAD RAGE: On the 8200 block of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs Feb. 5, a 40-year-old man reported another driver became enraged at him over a lane change and attempted to cut him off while at the same time brandishing a knife. The suspect is described as a 30- to 40-year-old white male, who was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe. A tag was obtained and criminal charges are being filed.

o JUST SAY ‘NO:’ At the Extended Stay America hotel at 1050 Hammond Drive in Sandy Springs Feb. 6, police officers were called to the scene at about 11:30 p.m. regarding two persons in a car parked in the lot of the hotel. Both appeared to be unconscious. They found a woman whose head was set back with her mouth open and holding two syringes. She was eventually awakened, but the other occupant, a male, was not responding. The woman said the man took a lot of heroin and some prescription pills. EMS responded and transported the male to Northside Hospital where he eventually woke up. They said the heroin was bought from someone in one of the hotel rooms.

o BAD DAY: At the Walmart at 1801 Howell Mill Road in Buckhead Feb. 7, a male suspect entered the store and stole two sets of merchandise, passing all points of sale. The suspect acted aggressively, attempting to fight when approached by police officers and security guards. The man was tased on the lower back area before being arrested and transported to city jail.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
