Steven Satterfield, executive chef and co-owner of Miller Union in west Midtown, Tuesday was named a finalist for the New York-based James Beard Foundation’s 2014 Best Chef: Southeast Award.
The foundation’s Southeast region includes Georgia, Kentucky, the Carolinas, Tennessee and West Virginia. The other finalists are: Kathy Cary of Lilly’s in Louisville, Ky.; Ashley Christensen of Poole’s Downtown Diner in Raleigh, N.C.; Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia in Louisville and Tandy Wilson of City House in Nashville, Tenn.
The winner will be announced at an awards gala May 5 at Lincoln Center in New York. The foundation honors journalists, filmmakers, authors and chefs with its annual accolades.
