Senior Sydney Leverrett has been a catalyst for the Wolfpack’s strong start, with only one individual loss in region play this year.
“Sydney is one of the reasons we’re undefeated in our region,” head coach Lindsey Young said. “She’s a great student.”
Leverrett has seen the overall growth of the program in her four years on the team.
“We made improvements my first two years but making the state playoffs last year showed that we’ve gotten better as a team,” she stated. “We have to keep going and I think we’re going to have a strong finish.”
The Wolfpack’s roster only has three seniors, increasing Leverrett’s leadership role with the team.
“We have a group of young players who are really good and I’ve tried to make them feel comfortable on the team,” she said.
Leverrett is a member of several clubs at North Paulding including the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans to major in pre-medicine with concentrations in exercise science and athletic training in college.
North Paulding returns to action Thursday at South Paulding.
