Just because school will let out for the summer next month does not mean local students will not have plenty of options to keep busy.

A wide variety of summer camps — run by local schools, houses of worship and other organizations — are seeking participants to register for their programs.

The camps fill a diverse set of interests for all ages. Sports lovers can hone their skills in baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, lacrosse and more. There are camps specializing in fine arts, theater, dance and even circus performance. Tabula Rasa in Sandy Springs offers total immersion camps in both Spanish and French. Other camps focus on fun approaches to academic learning or special enrichment activities like robotics, chess and leadership building.

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in Sandy Springs will host its first TV and Film Academy along with a variety of other summer classes. Actor Brian Baumgartner from the NBC show “The Office” will be working with students as a part of that camp.

“He’s an alum of Holy Innocents’ [middle school],” said school spokeswoman Peggy Shaw. “We are so excited.”
