Austin Prescott has played a crucial role in Centennial’s rise to the top in Class AAAAAA boys’ lacrosse during his four-year career.

The senior midfielder is doing his part in the Knights’ quest for a second consecutive AAAAAA state championship with 26 goals and 14 assists in the first seven games of the 2014 season.

Prescott has led the way for Centennial in a number of games this year, scoring eight goals in a 24-1 victory over Druid Hills Feb. 20, contributing five goals and three assists in a 25-1 win over North Forsyth Feb. 22, scoring two goals in an 18-7 defeat of Alpharetta March 5 and chipping in two goals and two assists in a 14-7 victory over Johns Creek March 14.

He provided a bright spot for the Knights with four goals in their 11-10 loss to defending AA state champion Westminster March 22.

Prescott was both an All-American and All-State selection last year as he helped lead Centennial to its first state boys’ lacrosse title in school history.

“He brings a settled presence to the team as a senior captain,” Centennial coach Bryan Wallace said. “He does a good job of controlling the offense and dictating the pace of the game. He’s usually the guy who gets us going.”
