Hudgens enjoyed an outstanding freshman season last year in which she led the team in scoring with 28 goals and helped guide Fellowship to a runner-up finish in the Class A state playoffs.
The sophomore striker has picked up where she left off with 17 goals to lead the Paladins, the second-ranked team in the latest Eurosport Class A poll.
Hudgens has put together a couple of hat tricks [three-goal games] – the latest coming in a 4-1 victory over Pinecrest last Tuesday.
Despite her youth as a sophomore, Hudgens is a soccer veteran – having gained valuable experience with the Concorde Fire club team.
“She’s played more soccer than most kids her age will,” Fellowship Christian coach Trip Hughes said. “She’s played on a very high level. She’s played a ton of soccer. When the game gets hard, she has the experience to focus on the job at hand. She might as well be a senior with all the experience she had. She’s been there and done that.”
