Junior League to host forum for Douglas County state, local candidates Tuesday

The Junior League of Douglas County State Public Affairs Committee is set to host a political forum Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Douglasville Conference Center ballroom, 6700 Church St. in downtown Douglasville.

The event will give voters a chance to meet political candidates running for various positions, and to have specific questions answered before the May 20 primary election.

Confirmed candidates include Senate District 30 candidate Bill Hembree; State Court Judge candidates Judge Neal Dettmering and Sonya Compton; Douglas County School Board District 4 candidates Tyler Barr, Denny Bridges, Lauren McCoy and Michelle Simmons; Douglas County Board of Commissioners District 4 candidates Commissioner Ann Jones Guider and J.R. McCoy; and 13th Congressional District candidate Michael Owens.
