“She is a huge part of the defense,” Guined said. “She holds our line. She is a major, major component of our defensive line and with her being a senior and a captain makes it worse because this is her last go round.”
Even though Edmondson is so dependable on that side of the field, there are very few moments when she doesn’t feel the pressure.
“It can be really nerve racking sometimes,” Edmondson said.
“Like if there are a lot of good people out there like there is a lot of the time, then it can get really stressful in the back but it is fun. For the most part, I think I do pretty good.”
Guined believes one reason Edmondson is able to excel is her speed.
“She is unbelievably fast,” Guined said. “I’ve seen her run people down that she shouldn’t have been able to run down. She just finds a way to make that happen. That is probably the most impressive thing I’ve seen her do.”
When the Lady Wolverines’ playoff run concludes, Edmondson’s tenure on the soccer field will end as well, since she intends to just focus on academics at West Georgia.
