“We had a shaky start to the season but we finished up strong with some younger players filling in some key spots in the lineup,” Webb said.
The right-hander finished the regular season with a batting average of .405 with seven home runs while playing strong defense for East Paulding.
He was also solid on the mound for the Raiders with the season highlight being a no-hitter thrown against Hiram in a 4-0 victory March 19.
“I worked hard in practice every day to get better and become the player I needed to be for the team’s success,” Webb said.
“I tried to set a good example for the younger players.”
The Raiders won their first-round series against Sprayberry, advancing to face Stephenson on Wednesday.
“I’ve enjoyed my four years on the varsity team and it’s meant a lot representing East Paulding,” Webb said.
Webb also played for the Raiders’ football team and was a member of DECA, a marketing club in the school. He will play for the East Cobb Yankees baseball team this summer.
