Senior Remel Williams had another stellar performance for Alexander at the Georgia High School Association Class 4A Sectional A meet in Carrollton April 26. She placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.17 and earned a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 25.47. Both results qualified Williams for the state meet in Albany last week for those two events.

At the state meet Friday in Albany, Williams finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter event.

“Preparations for the state meet went well and I worked hard on my start off the blocks,” Williams said.

She qualified for the state meet in the 100- and 200-meter dashes in all four years, placing third in the 100 as a junior.

Williams has been a member of several organizations at Alexander including the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club, Key Club and Student Government. She also ran for the E-1 Track Club.

She will attend Shorter University in Rome this fall and major in early childhood education to become a kindergarten teacher.
