Fulton County announced Tuesday it has modified its procedure for the issuance of land disturbance permits for water and sewer in the northern portion of the county served by the county’s potable water and/or sanitary sewer systems, specifically within the cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Mountain Park, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

Effective immediately, the Fulton County Department of Water Resources will assume the permit review responsibilities for developments seeking connection to the Fulton drinking water system or extensions of the sanitary sewer collection system. The Fulton County Department of Planning and Community Services will no longer review land disturbance permits for north Fulton.

Submissions shall now be made on the sixth floor of the Fulton County Government Center located at 141 Pryor St., Suite 6001, Atlanta, (404) 612-7400, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All projects that will connect to the county sanitary sewer and/or potable water systems in the aforementioned areas shall now submit two sets of construction plans with associated calculations of the construction cost, a log-in application and an initial permit review fee in the amount of $350. The final inspection fee will be assessed when the permit is issued.

Land disturbance permits for projects in unincorporated portions of the county, all located in south Fulton, will continue to be reviewed by the Fulton County Department of Planning and Community Services at Fulton County Government Services Center at Fulton Industrial, 5440 Fulton Industrial Blvd., Atlanta, (404) 612-7800.
