UPDATE: As of 5:00 p.m., Administrative Assistant Mary Frances Weeks said 19, 634 voters have shown up to cast ballots at the polls so far in DeKalb County.

"We still have about a third of the precincts that we're still waiting to call in with their numbers of voters so far," she said.

Voting ends at 7 p.m. today.

As of 10:30 a.m., 2,592 voters visited the polls in DeKalb County.

"Everything so far indicates this will be a typical election," said Administrative Assistant Mary Frances Weeks. "We are having normal voter turn-outs at this time and no issues at the polls have been reported."

Since opening at 7 a.m. this morning, Director of Elections H. Maxine Daniels said there have been no issues so far at the polls in DeKalb County.

"With 189 locations for voting in the county, you have to expect and prepare for some issues, but so far everything has run very smoothly," she said.

She said there was some heightened traffic this morning at the Candler Road polling location, but no lines.

This election is a 50 percent plus one vote.

"Rest assured there will be run-offs in this election," said Administrative Assistant Mary Frances Weeks.
