The results are in from the Roswell municipal court judge runoff election. Brian Hansford ended up with 59 percent of the votes, while opponent Melanie Ellwanger has 41 percent.

The winner is officially replacing retiring judge Maurice Hilliard, who stepped down last August.

Hansford and Ellwanger were the top vote-getters out of four hopefuls at a special election held in May, with 40 percent of ballots marked for Hansford and 32 percent going to Ellwanger.

Hansford has presided over Roswell’s municipal court as one of two pro-tem judges and has served as a judge in Alpharetta and Milton.
