Movie matinee

Maude P. Ragsdale (Hiram) Public Library will host a “Saturday Movie Matinee” Saturday, Aug. 9, and every second Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. Each month a new family-friendly movie is shown. Reception, awards

A reception and awards ceremony is set for Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Paulding County Fine Arts Association’s seventh annual Adult Photography Competition at the association’s Historic Courthouse Gallery and Studios at 11 Courthouse Square in Dallas. It is open to the public.


‘Food Truck Friday’

The Downtown Dallas Merchants Association will host its inaugural “Food Truck Friday” Aug. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. on Main Street in Dallas. Other scheduled dates are Sept. 12 and Oct. 10. The event will feature live entertainment in the Courthouse Square, and inflatable play areas for the children. Food vendors will range from barbecue to pizza, "surf and turf" and more.


‘Hot Rod Madness’

The Olde Town Hiram Business Association will host a “Hot Rod Madness” car show and festival featuring live music, food vendors, raffles and more Aug. 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Hiram. Downtown Hiram businesses will be open late for the event. The area is off Hiram-Douglasville Highway north of Hiram Sudie Road.

Outdoor movie

Paulding County will host an outdoor movie, “Rio 2” Aug. 16 at sundown on the big screen at Veterans Memorial Park in front of the Paulding government center and courthouse on Jimmy Campbell Parkway in Dallas. All ages are welcome.

Georgia Classic Rides block party and car cruise-in is set for Aug. 23 and every fourth Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Dallas.
