o GOOD SAMARITANS: At the Jimmy John’s restaurant at 3324 Peachtree Road in Buckhead July 31, the victim’s child’s father got upset with her and came to the location after she did not answer his phone calls. When the victim returned from a delivery, the suspect was outside waiting for her. A verbal altercation escalated and the suspect slapped and punched the victim. When the victim ran into the location, the suspect followed and cornered her near the rear of the restaurant. The manager overheard the commotion, ran to assist the victim and advised the suspect to leave. As the suspect turned around and took a few steps toward the front of the store, he began to yell and subsequently pulled out a knife and approached the victim. Two of the victim’s co-workers jumped in between the suspect and victim, and one was subsequently cut on the hand when he attempted to take the knife from the suspect’s hand. The suspect was subdued by several employees and at that point advised “he was done and that he was leaving.” Once outside, the su spect displayed a handgun to the employees and advised them to “step away from his vehicle.” EMS responded, but the victim was not transported. Police were later called to the hospital.
o HOME SCARE: At a residence at the 1300 block of Dupont Commons Circle in Buckhead July 31, a black male pointing a black semiautomatic handgun approached the victim’s vehicle window as she pulled into her garage and demanded she “roll down your window” and “get out the car.” The victim, who was on the phone with her husband, told him to “not come home” because of the gunman. She then backed out of her garage into the driveway, subsequently fleeing the location. The victim noticed another suspect standing in her driveway and struck her A/C unit to avoid hitting him. The suspects fired three shots at her vehicle, shattering the window. The victim’s husband saw three black males get into a dark colored Honda Civic and flee the scene. He attempted to follow the suspects, but lost sight of them. A neighbor overheard the gunshots, looked out the window and described seeing the same subjects fleeing.
o SHADY CROOKS: At The Shade Store at 1200 Howell Mill Road in Northwest Atlanta Aug. 1, a security officer conducting rounds observed four to five black males breaking into the location by throwing a brick into the side window. The suspects entered the store and removed four Apple Pro computers from desks before fleeing the scene in a black Honda Civic and a Grand Cherokee. The property’s key holder was out of town; units later spoke to him by phone.
The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
