PDS-TV24, the television station for the DeKalb County School District, will host auditions for its hit teen program “The Bridge.” DeKalb high school students who have a variety of skills and talents are encouraged to attend. Various roles such as hosting, producing, promoting and performing will be filled at this time. Auditions will be Sept. 3.

The TV program is a teen series that brings fun, education and entertainment to cable television from a teenager’s perspective. It features high school students from DeKalb schools set in a group forum where students discuss topics ranging from video gaming and college choices to fashion tips and budgeting finances. The teen series also includes performances and interviews from celebrity guests and community leaders, as well as performances by district students ranging from dance, singing, rapping, spoken word and ballet. The target audience includes diverse students and young adults ages 13 to 25.

Watching the program opens up discussion at the dinner table, and allows parents to engage in conversation with their children. It also seeks to fill the void in educational programming since much of today’s teen shows are heavy in entertainment and performance and lack educational topics.

For more information, contact Larry Steele, (678) 676-2464. To register for an audition, email, including the student’s name, phone number, email and the school they attend.

Also, make sure to include a parent’s contact information — name, email and phone number.
